The Moment Hotel: A Boutique Hotel Getaway on Sunset Blvd.

Written by Nadia Ibanez

On average, I travel up to Los Angeles once or twice every couple of months for restaurant visits, hotel tours, and food or music festivals. If we’re not staying with friends in their homes, it can be a bit difficult to find a centrally-located hotel in our price range and within the vicinity of our event or tour. Traffic can be a nightmare throughout LA so I’m always on the hunt for a hotel that’s close enough to the action and in an interesting location. Enter, The Moment Hotel on Sunset Blvd.

Just under one month old, The Moment Hotel is located smack dab in the middle of Hollywood’s “Guitar Row”. Across the street from the famed Guitar Center, Sam Ash Music Store, and the super-cool rock star photography art gallery, Mr. Musichead, The Moment Hotel was everything I asked for when it came to location and amenities.

The Moment Hotel takes a bright, modern approach to the not-so-typical Hollywood hotel. The property features just 39 guest rooms including one suite, and a Roofdeck overlooking the Sunset Strip, which allows guests to really feel like they’re staying at a boutique hotel. Complimentary bike rentals and even a virtual concierge that you can text at any time for pretty much anything you may need is also at your fingertips.

From the moment that we walked onto the property (sorry for the pun), I couldn’t help but notice the radiant colors, slanted walls, unique sculptures outside, and the close attention-to-detail across the hotel’s design elements. The staff on hand was helpful, uber friendly, and extremely accommodating. From pouring a craft beer inside the property’s Sunset Room cafe, or helping with directions to landmarks around town, the entire staff will go out of their way to make for a memorable stay.

We opted for one of the boutique hotel’s guest rooms and color splashes of bright orange accented the bed, entertainment center, and bathroom. I absolutely loved the oversized shower with rain showerhead, the 46” flat screen TV, in-suite Keurig machines, and Vive bath amenities. However, I think my favorite part of the room was the black-out shades that blocked the lights from the outside and provided a good night’s rest throughout the weekend.

Don’t forget to spend sometime on the Roofdeck. We took our glasses of beer upstairs during the day to watch the baseball game and get some sun, while watching the buzz of the city down below. The Roofdeck can also accommodate private parties of up to 125 people, so keep them in mind if you’re a LA resident looking for a new venue space.

If you’re looking for a centrally located hotel in Hollywood with the feel of a boutique property, I highly recommend The Moment.
