Fun Finds at the Fairfax Flea Market

I’m a sucker for a great flea market. Don’t bring me to a garage sale, swap meet, or social clothing swap. I love the curiosities you come across while walking through aisles of a huge parking lot in an urban, hipster area. Crazy vintage outfits, shabby chic furniture, DIY projects, jewelry of all kinds, peculiar photographs, and so much more.

Shabby Chic Treasures at the Fairfax Flea Market

The Melrose Trading Post aka the Fairfax Flea Market definitely falls under the category of one of the coolest flea markets in Southern California. At about a fraction of the size of the Long Beach Antique Market, this flea market is brimful of furniture, old photographs, designer handbags and accessories, and racks upon racks of polyester ensembles.

The market takes over the Fairfax High School parking lot every Sunday from 9am to 5pm and the $2 admission goes directly to supporting programs at the school. In addition to the aisles of vendors, you can also walk up to the food court in the upper quad for a thirst quencher, tacos, Asian goodies, and some live music.

Here are a few photos from our first trip to the Fairfax Flea Market.
